As the only narrowboat at the show it certainly produced great interest with a constant stream of people going through the craft from one end to the other throughout the week-long show.
By displaying a boat, the company also helped to bring narrowboats and the inland waterways to a whole new audience, a fact that became clear while we were there and talked to people coming off the boat; they were surprised at the ‘relative’ cheapness of it compared to blue water boating and the sophistication of narrowboats nowadays.
Generally, the show itself finished with a feeling of optimism for the marine industry going ahead. The attendance figure is said to have been 111,963, two percent higher than last year, and more than 600 exhibitors, from 22 countries around the world showcased boats and products.
