A new new town centre marina has opened in Northwich as a major part of the area’s regeneration.

The 51-berth Northwich Quays marina, situated on the River Weaver between the town’s two swing bridges, will be operated by Land & Water and was opened on 22 November by local MP Graham Evans.

The regeneration of the former salt mining town’s waterside is a joint venture between the Canal & River Trust and Land & Water, who have a 99-year lease on the site.

As well as the new marina, Northwich Quay includes a Waitrose store – which opened on the same day as the marina – and will include leisure facilities and a 58-home development of extra-care housing.
