The Canal & River Trust now has a Head of Customer Services, with the appointment of Ian Rogers from insurance broker Aon to the new senior role.

Mr Rogers has been head of the Aon Affinity division dealing with small and medium sized enterprises, and previously worked for Thomas Cook, Eurostar and Dataforce in Customer Service roles.

As well as being responsible for leisure boating, licensing and enforcement, CRT says he will lead a programme of customer service improvements to “put customers at the heart of what we do” as part of a ten-year strategy for “a greater focus on delivering excellent day-to-day service to boaters and other visitors” by the Trust’s 11 regional waterways units.

Welcoming the appointment, CRT Chief Executive Richard Parry said the new role would “be vital in making essential changes that will put our customers at the centre of our operation”.

Mr Rogers begins his new job on 2 Febuary.
