An uninspiring and graffiti-covered wall at a canalside timber-yard by Fazeley Junction has been transformed by artist Steve Edwards.

The mural paintings of a kingfisher and robin were created in order to complement the work of local Canal & River Trust Towpath Taskforce team volunteers. The team has been hard at work on the junction of the Coventry and Birmingham & Fazeley canals, clearing litter and weeds, putting up fences and removing graffiti. In the future the volunteers hope to attract some real birds to the canal by creating a waterside garden.

If you would like to join the team, then new volunteers are welcome to join work parties on alternate Wednesdays. Contact Tom Freeland on 01827 252010.
