We’ve just heard that there are two places on this Saturday’s (25 July) Have-a-Go cruise by the Truman Enterprise Narrowboat Trust.
People can have a go at steering and working locks under the watchful eye of a qualified Community Boat skipper. The full-day course starts from the Trust’s base at Calf Heath, near Wolverhampton, on the Staffs & Worcs and costs £15 per person. So if you’re thinking of trying narrow boating, or you’ve already booked a canal boat holiday for the first time and you’d like to get a bit of experience before you go, we reckon it’s a bargain.
