Boaters can pay to pre-book selected moorings in London

If the trial is successful, the Canal & River Trust will consider expanding to other places across London’s waterways
Boaters who have been put off visiting London’s canals by worries there will be nowhere to stop overnight can now pre-book mooring space at Rembrandt Gardens, Little Venice – provided they are prepared to pay £10 a night.
The moorings can be booked for up to seven nights in a single visit. See here for more details.
The CRT is trialling pre-bookable, short-stay moorings as part of their London Mooring Strategy. A survey carried out over the summer suggests people were being put off from visiting London as they believed they would have trouble finding somewhere to stop. Many visitors to the capital would pay for a guaranteed mooring, according to survey results.
If successful, the scheme could be introduced to other places.
“As anyone who has boated in central London recently will tell you, it can get very busy, and it’s more important than ever that we manage the finite space fairly to meet the needs of a wide range of boaters,” said Matthew Symonds, CRT boating strategy & engagement manager.
