RIVER STORT

River Stort

The Stort is an exceptionally pretty waterway that meets the River Lee near Hoddesdon. Characterised by narrow meandering river sections, locks that are often accompanied by mills, and old maltings and granary buildings, the Stort winds its way through Roydon, Sawbridgeworth and the outskirts of Harlow to a terminus in the old market town of Bishop’s Stortford.
