EREWASH CANAL

Erewash CANAL
The Erewash Canal is the surviving remnant of a local system of canals in the East Midlands that once linked Derby Nottingham and Cromford to the Trent. Rescued from abandonment in the 1960s, the top part of the canal was restored and the Great Northern Basin at Langley Mill reopened as its terminus. There are good prospects that the Cromford and Derby canals will be restored and the Erewash will once again be the centre of a local network.
