BIRMINGHAM CANAL NAVIGATIONS

 BIRMINGHAM CANAL NAVIGATIONS

The BCN forms a complex network of a hundred miles of formerly industrial waterways featuring well over a hundred locks, several tunnels and numerous aqueducts. The system reaches most parts of the Birmingham and Black Country area, but includes many pleasant rural lengths as well as reminders of the area’s industrial past. Most boaters stick to the main through routes and use the BCN as a through route to more rural canals, but it has its own fascination and a loyal band of enthusiasts dedicated to seeking out and preserving its surviving industrial heritage.

Total including Birmingham & Fazeley Canal Approx 100 miles 133 locks
