The pupils from Kilsby Primary School near Rugby have been treated to a free boat trip to celebrate children aged 16 and under having free entry to the Crick Boat Show.

The boat trip, which lasted for 30 minutes, travelled up the Grand Union Canal and even included a meet and greet with none other than the great canal engineer James Brindley.

Peter Johns the show director, says: “It’s particularly special that they [the children] get to learn this from the man who was instrumental in developing the canal network – James Brindley. The children are getting an exclusive preview of the boat trips and the Brindley impersonator that Crick Boat Show-goers will enjoy meeting this year.”

Crick Boat Show 2016 will be open from 10am until 6pm every day except Monday 30 May, when it will close at 5pm. Evening entertainment runs from 7.30pm to 11.30pm.
