Yes, I’ve painted the stern deck a matt grey on my model narrowboat which was supplied in kit form from Dean’s Marine, Peterborough. Also this month, I’ve made the bed, the toilet and the sink/cooker unit, attached the window frames, put in some flooring – yes, I know it lacks a bit of finesse, but I’m making do with the limited tools I have and lack of work surfaces, never mind my lack of experience in model-building, this is definitely one for the more advanced builder. I’m building the boat up on the floor as I don’t have room for a workbench, so, much to my wife’s annoyance… I have bits littered all over my office carpet. Next job is to put in the internal walls and doors.
